Post-storm checklist for Lancaster roofs

Start with a walk around the house

After a storm, walk the property and look up at the roof from different sides. You are watching for missing pieces, new dark patches or debris built up in valleys.

Check down low as well

Make sure gutters, downspouts and ground-level drains are clear so water can move away from the house instead of backing up toward the roof and walls.

When to ask for help

If you see missing shingles, exposed underlayment, slipped tile or anything else that looks off, it is usually worth getting an inspection before the next round of weather.
